Ali Moshiri

Ali Moshiri retired from Chevron at mandatory age as President of Chevron Africa and Latin America in March 2017. Currently, he is the founder and CEO - President of Amos Global Energy Investment based in Houston, Texas.

Ali Moshiri joined Chevron in 1978 as a Petroleum Engineer in New Orleans, Louisiana. From 1983 to 1987, he was supervisor of Engineering for Chevron Energy Technology Company supporting upstream activities. In 1987, he joined Chevron Overseas Petroleum in the United Kingdom as manager of Technical Applications for Exploration and Production activities in the North Sea. In 1991, he became supervisor of Petroleum Engineering for Chevron Overseas Petroleum, with responsibilities for petroleum engineering activities in international operations.

Between 1992 and 1997, he held a variety of positions of increasing responsibility as manager of Petroleum and Facilities Engineering Operations for international operations. In 1997, he was named general manager of Strategic Planning and Assets Evaluation for Chevron Overseas Petroleum, with responsibility for ten international business units, mergers and acquisitions, as well as new business development. In 2000, he assumed the position of general manager of Upstream activities and advisor to the Vice Chairman of the Board for Chevron Corporation.

In 2001, he was appointed Managing Director of the Latin America business unit, where he was responsible for Chevron’s upstream operations in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Trinidad & Tobago, and Venezuela. He became the President of Chevron Africa and Latin America in 2008 and held that position until his retirement in 2017.

In 2017, he became the founder and CEO-President of Amos Global Energy Investment LLC, the position that he holds today. Amos Global Energy Management is focused on investments in the energy sector in the U.S. and Latin America.  The company currently has investments and operations in the U.S. and Argentina, as well as being in the process of executing potential investment opportunities in Venezuela and Panama.

Ali Moshiri graduated from the University of Tulsa with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in petroleum engineering in 1978. He was Chairman of the Niger Delta Partnership Initiative, a board member for the Houston Zoo, the Institute of the Americas, the Trust for the Americas, the Organization of American States, as well as being a member of the Jones Graduate School Council of Overseers at Rice University. Currently, he serves on the board of the Council of the Americas and is a board member of CB&I.
